Her daughters have attended Massapequa public schools from preschool to 12th grade, her oldest daughter a recent honors graduate.&nbsp; With a child in STEM and a child in the arts, Lynn understands the importance of academic excellence and supporting children as they develop their individual abilities.&nbsp;</li><li>Thriving in a career in law and advocacy, Lynn knows that the strongest position isn’t the loudest– it’s the one that is prepared and informed. I will approach preserving the Chiefs' mascot through the only viable avenues that exist. True local control means sitting down with the state and local tribe leaders to achieve a lasting agreement on the mascot issue that respects our history and maintains town pride, rather than waiting for a judge to toss the case out again.

Mascot &amp; Local Heritage

I will focus on Privacy and Dignity. As a mother of girls, I believe every student deserves to feel safe and respected. I will continue to develop best practices on this subject with our highly-trained school counselors and staff. My goal is a district where we handle student needs privately and effectively, keeping our $48M in state aid secure and our focus on education. Local control in education means conversations with parents and students, and collaboration with our qualified school staff on mental health and privacy solutions. I will always advocate for safety measures that are data-proven and backed by health professionals.

Districts like Levittown and Jericho utilize a Universal Pre-K program for their 4 year olds, which allows their children to attend the Pre-K of their family’s choosing with no out-of-pocket cost. I will host transparent, fact-based round tables with state representatives and neighboring districts to get the best information. Massapequa parents shouldn’t have to pay twice for quality Pre-K. We need clear, thorough understanding of what UPK might look like for the families in our town.

I will advocate for investment of our money in our classrooms. We’ve been distracted by loud legal spectacle, and our curriculum has fallen behind. I will advocate for more satisfying Special Education solutions and modern literacy tools. Our children deserve updated textbooks, tech that best facilitates all types of learning, and robust extracurricular offerings that enhance the school experience– for children of all abilities and interests.

I will prioritize conversation and effective advocacy over expensive litigation. The current 'sue-first' approach has cost me and all Massapequa taxpayers without delivering a single win. As a board member, I will engage directly with Albany– representing Massapequa’s values as a parent and community leader, rather than hiring outside firms to do it for thousands.
